SO-DIMM memory for edge and micro servers

Edge and branch servers often use laptop-format SO-DIMMs to fit a fanless or short-depth chassis. Supermicro's E100 and E300 lines, several Dell embedded boxes and most firewall appliances take them.

ECC SO-DIMMs exist but are rarer, so confirm what the board supports before ordering. Many edge platforms are also strict about module height and single-sided versus double-sided layouts.
