Field notes
One DIMM per channel by design, so memory upgrades are a full swap. 5th Gen CPUs need BIOS 2.x or later. Firmware via BMC web UI or SUM; BIOS via BMC still needs the OOB or DCMS license. Supported on ESXi 8, Windows Server 2022/2025 and RHEL 9.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose Supermicro over Dell or Lenovo?
Price per performance, unusual form factors (GPU, storage-dense, multi-node, edge) and flexibility. The trade-off is less hand-holding from the vendor, which is where we come in.
Do Supermicro servers have remote management?
Yes. Every server-class board has a BMC with IPMI, Redfish and a web console; X13/H13 use the ASPEED AST2600 with HTML5 KVM. A licence key may be needed for BIOS updates via the BMC on older boards.
Can the SuperServer SYS-121C-TN10R run a current operating system?
Check the field notes above. As a rule, current models are certified for Windows Server 2022/2025, ESXi 8 and RHEL 9; legacy models usually stop at Windows Server 2019 or ESXi 7 and may need Proxmox or an older Linux to stay useful.
