Field notes
Same BIOS 2.0 rule for Milan. The 24-bay NVMe config uses retimer cables that are easy to mis-seat; a missing drive group typically means a cable, not a drive. Firmware via BMC web UI or SUM. Strong used platform for Proxmox and ESXi 8.

Can the SuperServer AS-2124US-TNRP run a current operating system?
Check the field notes above. As a rule, current models are certified for Windows Server 2022/2025, ESXi 8 and RHEL 9; legacy models usually stop at Windows Server 2019 or ESXi 7 and may need Proxmox or an older Linux to stay useful.
