Field notes
A workstation chassis with a real BMC; drives are fixed, not hot-swap. E-2200 and 32 GB UDIMMs need a BIOS update on early boards. Firmware via BMC or SUM. Windows Server 2022, ESXi 7 and Proxmox all run well; the 531A-IL is the current equivalent.

Keep it or replace it?

Can the SuperServer SYS-5039C-T run a current operating system?
Check the field notes above. As a rule, current models are certified for Windows Server 2022/2025, ESXi 8 and RHEL 9; legacy models usually stop at Windows Server 2019 or ESXi 7 and may need Proxmox or an older Linux to stay useful.
