About the family
Desktop next-generation firewalls for small offices and branches. Gen 7 models (TZ270, TZ370, TZ470, TZ570, TZ670) run SonicOS 7 with multi-gig ports, integrated wireless options (W models) and PoE variants (P models). Gen 6 TZ300/TZ350/TZ400/TZ500/TZ600 are widely deployed and now at or near end of support.
Security services (Gateway AV, IPS, Capture ATP, content filtering) are subscription; without them it is a basic stateful firewall. Gen 6 units cannot run SonicOS 7 and need replacement. Keep firmware current: SonicWall SSL VPN vulnerabilities have been actively exploited.
